RBB, Ford already confirmed that we will be getting it when the 3rd generation Focus is released here. that Focus will be a global Focus instead of having 2 VERY different cars in the US and Europe.
and Nagma, thanks for echoing what i just said. the suspension, brakes, and steering aren't Lotus. they were tuned by Lotus though.
I'll bet a years salary that you won't see a 300 hp Focus in the US. Bookmark this post, I guarantee it won't happen.
x2, I just don't see a Focus RS in the USA. I see the Focus being brought here though.

You might see a special edition Ecoboost 4cyl Focus with around 200 hp, but it will fall flat because the cost of it will drive potential customers up to the upcoming 3.7 V-6 Mustang which will be near to 300 hp.

The global Focus platform will be here, along with the Fiesta, but you wont see a 300 hp hot hatch version of the Focus. And you probably won't even see a 2 door hatch version of the Fiesta for a while. Probably be a 5 door for a while.

the price won't matter. when it comes to the US, it'll be in the same price range as an Evo and STI. both competitors to the Focus RS. that price range is anywhere from 32 to 35 grand.

Trust me, Ford will not delve into that market. Once again I say mark my word, you will not see a 300 hp Focus offered in the US market. Call me an idiot or whatever you wish to based on rumors from Autoblog and the other automotive "pundits", but it is not gonna happen. I have intricate knowledge of the company from a very good perspective, and I can guarantee that it will not happen.

BTW the Focus RS was a limited edition model and is already sold out... one reason why they can ask high prices is making low numbers to make it exclusive and everyone fantasy dream to own one..

Everything I have read says we get the Euro Focus, but not the RS. I'd bet our hot Focus will be the next step down from the RS, sort of like how the SVT Focus here was the Euro market ST170 positioned right below the RS in Europe. I second the notion that we'll see an Ecoboost Focus but it will be in the low 200hp range (which will still be a little barn burner.)

A mate of mine just bought one of these, the put 5" of lift under it and 33" rubber on some 18" bling rims. Gets used off road, too.
Sliders are being made for it as I speak along with a new front bar.

Also, I caught a Lumina SS on film a few years ago. GM even contacted me over it.
Hah. What'd they say?

They wanted to know exactly where, when, and what the driver looked like when I saw it. I have a feeling it wasnt supposed to be out....or at least not abused like that. They also told me to be on the lookout for another lumina, and a lime green ute in the same area.
