While I was searching, I came across this monstrosity.

That plane looks like its from the movie Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow. (Terrible movie, but crazy imagination)

Its crazy how that F104 crashed into the Valkyrie during the photoshoot. Shame we lost 2 pilots that day.

Under them.

Years ago the Dayton museum used the XB-70 as a cafe. Last time I went they parked it outside.

Still I think the best one at Dayton is the b-36. Just a fooking monster.

The x-15 still amazes me. I could peek inside the cockpit and see the size of it. Damn! I dont think I get a leg in there let alone my whole self. Clausterphobia to the Nth degree. Lips Sealed
And they dropped that plane from the wing of a plane to launch it.

Test pilots = Balls of iron

With a highly modified suspension, and a cargo bay full of added weight. Wink They also were instructed to not use the brakes to stop, because they would just burn out and do nothing, lol.

The Tugs I used to pull planes with were equipped with either a SBC or an old chrysler slant 6. Cheesy

Short wheelbase + short gears + torque = happy fun time, lol.

I loved that thing. It was the size of a jeep, made entirely out of cast iron, had a dually rear end, a T-handle 6 speed manual, and a SBC. In the crawl gears it would pull anything, and in high gear it could cruise near 30-35 mph.

Ruh-roh!

Its not one of those vintage planes where a replacement prop is made of unobtainium, and costs 35 arms and 16 legs?

Otherwise, a picture would be of interest!
