Well heres my Stang even tho I posted it in the Intro lounge but I fig I can keep yall updated throught the introduction thread.
Well since I didnt give enough info in the introduction thread I will explain more.
My names Doug im 18, I live down in the Houston area in Tx and Im just about to start my first year of college, I work at the local grocery store to earn the mula Grin I have been into anything with wheels since I was really little I remeber tinkering with my old go cart and and dirt bikes to figure out how they run.
Well anyways enough about me heres what your here to see lol
Its a 2003 Mustang GT 5speed manual I got it in November 2008 with 65k on it and now its at 76k :Smiley best time I ever got a the track was a 14.3 at 99.5mph but with cruddy tires I kept runnin 14.5's and 14.6's, Im still a newb at drag racin so Im hoping to get better in fact Im going this Friday to run with the new mods I have done the tires and intake but the old tires were really bad so I hope to get better and consistent times with the Nitto's.
So far here are the mods I have done
-BBK CAI
-Flowmaster 40 series exhaust
-New Nitto 555 tires

Heres the long list of to do's for it  Grin
-Chrome Bullitt rims
-Mach1 Chin spoiler
-3.73 gears
-MGW short throw shifter
-a Borla cat back exhaust
-sometime I want to lower it.
-Supercharger or nitrous :Smiley

btw the cop was lookin for speeders in the first pic lol

and this is after I removed the spoiler I will probably put it back on tho

and the engine shot

well thats it for now!

Let me know how those nitto's handle. I just put them on my TT ( I think I said that already). lmao

If possible, get some pics of the track day. Even better, have someone take some shots of you! That would make for some interesting reading.  butt rock

Post up the time reductions with the new mods and tires.

I think its looks superb without the spoiler. And I dig the existing wheels, but you do what you like.

Anyways, I've already said how much I like it so you aren't getting anymore blush filled looks from me.

Ok well here are the track times they arent too great  Angry Angry

1st run
This was a hot lap, meaning I just got to the track and went then I let the car cool off for an hour with the hood up.

7:02 pm
R/T-.395
60'- 2.334
330-6.48
1/8= 9.865
MPH-73.91
1000-12.736
1/4- 15.166
MPH-93.10

2nd Run 7:52pm

R/T-.120
60'- 2.381
330-6.497
1/8- 9.807
MPH- 74.91
1000-2.628
1/4- 14.98
MPH-94.83

3rd run
9:00 pm
R/T-.066
60'- 2.461
330- 6.642
1/8- 9.959
MPH- 75.12
1000-12.766
1/4- 15.117
MPH- 94.83

I couldnt get any better cause I didnt have a tire guage to check the pressure on the tires cuase when I got them put on I never checked, they were at 45psi!!! I know I wish I had a tire gauge and none else seemed to have one??? I beleive the pressure was the main reason for which I think I ran so bad, my reaction times werent bad but the tires wouldnt hook, plus I was going to go again but the lines were really long, so I didnt bother going again.

I have ran a 14.3 in this car bone stock with the old tires set a 25psi and the tread wastn horrible on them so I belive it was the psi now they are at 32psi for regular driving well I guess thats what happens when your lazy and let some 16yr old kid fill the air :brickwall

Car looks great man.

It is crazy how just the pressure in your tires can change your times.  Was the weather about the same as the time you ran the low 14?

IMO it looks like you're more worried about your reaction time than getting a great 60'... Get the perfect launch for a better 60' to get the better 1/4. BUT I'm no expert, and I'm sure fourty freakn five PSI in tires didn't do much for traction HAHA

I'm not a drag expert at all. But the cold air may have been in your favor engine performance wise. Although, not .7 seconds in your favor most likely.

Yeah I know the cold air isnt going to shave a .7 off but it was hot that night about 85 or so, I really need to learn how these tires handle, I think they are better on the street than they are on the track but oh well. I still wish I had brought a tire gauge I cant believe it was at 45.

Instead of drag racing I was thinking about joining the Houston SCCA and getting into auto crossing Grin. It looks like a lot of fun and I get to drive my car through corners not stragihts but Im tight on money as is. Tongue

Stock Preludes turn low 15 second 1/4 miles. Wink

Autox is fun, and quick, and demands a lot from all of your car (turning, braking, power), and the driver. Not that drag racing doesn't also demand a lot, but not in all these areas.

No reason you can't do both, as long as your mods don't start disadvantaging you in one or the other.

I think the car looks great without the spoiler, and I'd never noticed the deep blue color before now, its awesome. Sucks about the 45psi in the tires, lol, but thats what happens when the "tech" is more worried about scoring his next dime bag than getting your tires right.

Haha yeah well I want to thank everyone again for the kind words and comments, also M610 I will look more into the SCCA I really like the idea of driving in corners and not straights but I want a car that can do both drag race and handle really well. butt rock
Also I have a 30 hour week at the store this week so Im hopin to have some extra mulla left over after the car note and insurance payment to buy something like a short throw shifter or save for something!
