Sold my Jeep and bought me a 1990 toyota pickup.  22re, 5 spd, and 91,000 miles on it.  Originally from Oregon

Day I picked it up

After a little work..

And how she sits now!

Great find !  It looks to have been well taken care of.  Hope the underside looks as good as the exterior .  .  .

Sweet rig bro, any plans?

At this point I'm just trying to fix all the minor little issues.   No plans with it otherwise, just a daily driver & occasional camping/off-roading vehicle

On closer inspection, this thing is mint! We have a tonne of these over here but very few with the bed like that, 99% of our single cabs have steel/alloy trays. Also, the front bumper and apron on yours is off an import (for here, all of your Surfs were imports) Surf. A stock Hilux bumper in one piece, Surf's are three piece. Those chrome wheel arch flares? As rare as hens teeth, blokes over here would kill for them!

That's the nicest one I've seen in a long time, congrats. Those 22RE and the earlier 22R engines run forever. It always amazed me how strong these were with a 4 cyl and the right gear combo.

Yup she's in pretty decent shape.  Clear coat is beginning to bubble and chip off near the top of the box, but that's about it.

I did have to do the timing chain on it as it was stretched badly.  So i ordered up an LC engineering timing chain kit with heavy duty chain & metal chain guides instead of the cheap OEM plastic guides.

Nice upgrade. Is that noticeably louder than the original? Seems like it would make a little noise, but be well worth the difference.
