I just read this on another site, also read that Suzuki bought its share back from GM. Not many people know that Suzuki is the largest producer of engines in the world.

Thats not Suzuki thats Honda... Suzuki is in the worldwide car industry relative small

After buying 49.9% of Porsche and 19.9% stack in Suzuki Volkswagen is still hungry for more... today news pop up that Volkswagen will make soon a offer to completely take over MAN (truck) ... at the moment VW holds ~30% of MAN. VW plan is to merge Scania (which they already own) MAN and their own VW commercial and truck vehicle brand into one truck commercial brand.

I think VW is too smart to go out and by dying brands. The brands they have bought are boutique brands that make a lot more profit than a Saabswagon, or Volvwagon would, or are something they can sell at discount prices in 2nd world countries while still making a profit.
